Annual fair in our town

We usually have a fair in Autumn and Spring. Our region is agricultural and farmers bring to the fair what they have grown up in their gardens. You can also see different hand-made souvenirs which are very popular in Russia. They are made of wood and can be used at home for different purposes.

The toys are made of paper.

Quest for the Mermaids necklace

He saw a giant cave, then came two gigantic ice monsters. They charged at him in a penguin walk. His water sword went out and made the water go warm. They were as hard as stone. Frowse chopped an arm off one but it grew back, but it was smaller. He chopped it off again. Slowly the arm dripped, soon they both melted.

He found a ice box then it opened. What was inside?
         'It's the necklace,'he gasped!

He picked it up and raced to the Mermaid. As soon as he got there he gave the necklace to her. She said, "Thank you. Please follow me.  This part of my lands will be your kingdom."
Frowse was relieved.
"Mermaid can I go home?" said Frowse?
"Of course. Just close your eyes."
As soon as he opened his eyes he was safe and home!

Spring holidays

Hello friends in England!

Spring holidays is a good time to relax and explore new places. Some of us are going to visit relatives. Some others are going to spend time outdoors doing sports or visiting friends.

The days are warm and the snow is melting. So there is much water in the streets. But the air is fresh and we enjoy walking and playing outdoors.
George is having a good time too!

The school will start on April 1.

Hear from you again soon.

Our traditions

There are a lot of traditional holidays in Russia. “Maslenitsa” is one of them. It marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring and Lent before Easter.
There was a celebration of Maslenitsa in our town on Sunday, March 5. Many people came to the central square to listen to the national songs and play national games. On this day people cook pancakes and eat them with sour cream, honey, butter or caviar. During the festival people usually burn a scarecrow of winter. You can see a young man in a national Russian dress with a red bag collecting “bad things” which the people want to be burned together with the scarecrow. People usually write on a small piece of paper “bad things” and put them into the bag. Then the bag is usually burned in the fire.
After that there are all kinds of competitions and games. One of them is to get a present which is high on the tall pole. Young men have to climb up the pole to reach the bag with the present. In the bag usually there is a note with the name of the present. The present is usually a real cock.
